Lorde's Sydney fans were left disappointed on Wednesday when the pop princess avoided a meet and greet at the airport, instead being escorted in a private car off the tarmac.

A source told The Daily Mail Australia that upon landing in Sydney, Police waited air side at the gate to make sure the 20-strong group of fans didn't get out of hand.

'When she arrived in Sydney she didn’t have to meet and greet her fans at the airport, she was taken off the tarmac,' the source said.

'A car was waiting for her a short distance from the plane... Lorde did not speak or meet with anyone – she was whisked away in a people carrier.'

I despise when celebrities do this. Lorde could have at least simply waved to everyone who was waiting.
