I think this interview might've been done a while ago from the way she talks about the Maroon 5 collab.

But she also might just be practicing caution after how many times P&S got delayed. No Doubt promised it would be out in 2011 and then they pushed it back to 2012

So it's better if she makes it sound like she's only starting to work on new music.
