This is a Warhol, king of the Pop Art movement. Here Art is Wearing Pop. Get it? This is what I meant by the album expressing reverse-Warhol. Through visuals and also the music: the music was my artistic expression of ARTPOP life, the life of a musician and woman who is constantly wearing art like a dress--and then becoming a new form of it.
Can't she just say that she is a living and moving art piece that is created by pop culture?I can imagine she sort of confused herself while writing that. LOL
You could simplify the concept of Warhols Pop Art as brining popular culture (pop) into the Art scene. That's what Warhol did with his work: he took popular constructs and presented them as art works, claiming their artistic value in the art world.
The interesting thing is, Pop Art is already the inversion of the norm in traditional art. Pop art challenged the direction and approach taken by traditional artists and how they presented art to the world.
So who is she educating? Tbh it looks like she needs the educating. She's doing exactly what was Pop Art is conceptually and calling it reverse.
