Speaking to Digital Spy, the rising Canadian star explained that songwriting is consistently surprising because the tracks other artists select to record often aren't the ones she expects them to choose:
"So far people have been recording a lot of the music,
Rihanna recorded two or three of my songs. Whether they will end up on the album, I don't know."
"When I started I did the whole writing for an artist, but I've stopped doing that. I think it takes away from my writing.
The one that Rihanna has cut is one that I never in a million years expected her to pick out, so it was super interesting. It just shows that people want to evolve and try new things."
