MJ was bigger than Madonna but saying that Madonna was not even close to MJ's level is completely ridiculous.
Beatle, Elvis, MJ and Madonna are known to be the Big Four and it's not even an argument
The second tier would be Elton John, Mariah, Whitney and Celine. (rock artists not included)

Exactly. Therefore she is not on his level. That is all we're saying.

Madonna is the BLUEPRINT for female artists
Michael however is EVERYONES
blueprint, male or female

He's "everyone's" blueprint because he is a man and we live in a male-dominated society where it's acceptable for women to look up to men but not vice versa. He also wasn't polarizing like Madonna always has been.

MJ's trump card is that he appealed to every age range + demographic and still does today.
I have nieces and nephews ranging from 4yo to 9yo who can recite his lyrics verbatim. It's hard to put anyone on his level in those respects even if x, y, or z sold more in certain places.

She's on her own level. Which is extremely high. Legend of our generation.

MJ isn't even the blueprint of "everyone" for god's sake
I'm sure Nirvana and Celine Dion were reading MJ's bible when they were making their albums

! You can go to literally ANY type of function, throw on a Michael Jackson song and people are going to dance/ sing along to sing along to every word.
A barbecue in the hood of Atlanta
A prom in beverly Hills
A rave
A bar Miztvah
A rock and roll festival
A high school graduation
A retirement party
etc.
From here in the US, to Europe to a village in the middle of Africa.
Madonna? Not so much.

Not at all.
It's difficult to achieve similar status nowadays because of how expansive the entertainment industry is nowadays and the ways in which we consume it.
@ the people thinking Britney or Whitney is on the league of Madonna, much less Michael Jackson.

The heirarchy of pop is like this:
1. Michael Jackson
2. Britney Spears and Madonna
3. Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Whitney Houston
4. Rihanna and Lady Gaga
5. Beyonce, Katy Perry and Kesha

Putting her on the same level as Gaga and Britney though? Disgusting.
