Eh... Not buying the natural vs unnatural thing, I think it's more to do with the fact that white/lighter skin is viewed as more desirable/higher class in many countries(hell, most of the world), so bleaching is viewed as reinforcing that idea. There is no real stigma against white skin, so if you have it you're free to Do What You Want with your skintone, there's no negative connotation attached with wanting a to go darker. It's unfair to naturally darker skinned people that they have to deal with what they've been given, while whites can keep their color, tan, go Jersey Shore orange, etc. Similar to how any black woman who wears her hair any color other than dark brown is accused of "wanting to be white" (particularly on more... black blogs), while white woman can go blonde, brown, red, black, blue, etc without judgement
If it was just that bleaching is natural, ya'll would have a problem with any form of plastic surgery (obviously many do, but it's still nowhere
near as stigmatized as skin lightening) and hair dye, etc.
