I think the first one was changing her style, from brown to blonde hair while adapting a more "pop" sound, while the second came with not having a growth or development in her sound.

No growth or development? Have you listened to the non-single tracks on GL or AL?
Besides, there are A TON of pop girls out there who haven't progressed their sound in years.
Also, didn't Taylor Swift go "more pop" with Red? How come it's okay for Taylor to adapt to pop, while it's not okay for Avril?

She took a 4-year break only to come up with that basic trash Goodbye Lullaby.
It was literally a bunch of boring unfinished excesively raw tracks combined with the most generic and dated Max Martin songs she could do.

What's wrong with rawness?
Boring? Would you rather have an upbeat, bratty Avril, or a deep, introspective Avril?
And how can Avril's singles be considered generic or dated when JT's Mirrors sounds like it came from 2006, and much of Katy Perry's discography has Max Martin's fingerprints all over it?
