One float among the 200 that participated in the record-breaking Chicago Pride Parade on Sunday is catching some flak over signs criticized as body-shaming and "insensitive."
Quote:
The controversial float was sponsored by Chicago Liposuction, a suburban clinic that offers body treatments including tummy tucks, cellulite removal, skin tightening, labiaplasty and, of course, liposuction. Featured on the side of the float were messages proclaiming "Say NO to man boobs!" and "Don't love your love handles?"
Some of the signs were held by young children, including versions that read "We Will Suck Your Fat!"
So, was it insensitive? Was it a genuis business plan? Was it just sort of a thing that people are over reacting too? Do these sorts of things need to stop? Spill your thoughts.
Funny cause when some gays do "chest day" and get those big ass pecks, it's not a problem. Then when someone has a little weight on them in the boob area, it's bad? Either way, you have some substance hanging off your chest.
Actually of all people with eating disorders, men make up about 47% of cases.
Quote:
Compared to other populations, gay men are disproportionately found to have body image disturbances and eating disorder behavior (STATS). Gay men are thought to only represent 5% of the total male population but among men who have eating disorders, 42% identify as gay.
Compared with heterosexual men, gay and bisexual men had a significantly higher prevalence of lifetime full syndrome bulimia, subclinical bulimia, and any subclinical eating disorder.
Pride, a place where you can celebrate who you are, unless you are not the typical homosexual, because through the years we forgot the real reason why we are doing this and instead we're just turning this into a big materialistic campaign!.

Because even in the gay community (an oppressed community seen as abnormal), they are afraid of what they deem abnormal.
Not offensive at all. If the parade is 99% muscle guys with six packs, this lipo ad gives hope to those who don't possess those kinds of perfect bodies. It's a way for out of shape people to #getWithTheProgram
