This morning, Rita Ora was a guest at GIEL's morning radioshow in The Netherlands and covered Beyoncé's 'Drunk in Love' and The Spice Girls' 'Say You'll Be There'. She covered The Spice Girls cause she watched their movie Spice World on the plane.
Wow...she has an almost Sia-esque huskiness to her voice. Not that she should copy Sia's pronunciations and vocal inflections, but if Sia mentored her, her vocals could be legendary.
It's too bad she gets shaded as being a Rihanna knock-off because she's really talented. She just needs to find her "brand" - like Ariana Grande's been working this whole 60's thing and is creating a look and an image for herself. Rita Ora's having so much difficulty establishing herself as an artist because she's constantly discredited for being a poor man's Rihanna.
This is a lot better than I expected. People need to stop with this "Poor Rita, shes gets so much unnecessary hate" thing though. ALL of her televised performances are trash, and when she performs in front of big crowds, she sucks. But she doesn't sound bad stripped down. Thing is a lot of singers sound good in a setting like this.

Boop. No lies told.
Her team has a terrible ear for tracks as well. IWNLYD was a mess. Even Jessie J would've passed on that.
