It's common practice in the Northern Beaches, Bondi, etc. Where do you live? hahahaha. If you walk around Mona Vale shops in summer to great groceries from Woolworths, people are walking around in bikinis and board shorts and nothing else.
Brisbane, and I'd expect to see barefoots in Logan or Woodridge. I'll give you that it's common to find people in bikinis etc in summer, but only in shops directly opposite the beach. Like surfers for example
Being fashionable has nothing to do with sexuality. If anything, it says a lot about the social strata u are in .... Being fashionable is not equal to being gay or vice versa.
When I put in effort, I have good style. But most days I just wear footy shorts and a t-shirt everywhere. I never wear pants and I never wear shoes. I get some looks when I'm walking around the shops barefoot but it's pretty common in Australia. And I just don't wear shoes if it's groceries. If I'm actually going into other shops I'll wear shoes.
This isn't true, it's just a rumor in the gay community to seem special. Gays are mostly over the top, wearing things only their white girl friends find cute.
I guess the stereotype comes from the idea that women tend to dress well, gay men relate to women/act more like women, so therefore gay men would dress well also. But that's obviously not 100% true, for instance I'm a woman and I have like no fashion sense whatsoever, so I'm sure there are many gay guys out there that don't as well
