People on this website don't only write things they agree with. Sometimes you write opinions. Sometimes you write facts. She's gained the weight back. That is a fact. Pop stars are more marketable when they're thinner and have bodies that girls want. That is also a fact. Obviously she felt the pressure to lose the weight from the BTWB ahead of ARTPOP's release, which is why she stepped out a year ago in a bra and a skirt showing her rock-hard abs, skinny arms and amazingly toned legs/bum. That was only a year ago. She's put on a lot of muscle from touring and she's puffy/bloated from eating a lot of carbs for energy so she can perform the show every night. But recognising that someone's gained weight, when they have, isn't flamebait. A lot of girls would kill for her current body. But she's gained weight. That's just a fact. Saying it isn't body-shaming. A lot of people think she looks better when she's curvy.

Exactly.
Pop stars (at least the successful ones) need to maintain an image to sell a fantasy to the GP. Young, impressionable youth who want to consume all of this media find ways to identify with her and in others... idolize her and aspire to be closer to her appearance/talent. We also tend to identify ourselves through our preferences in music which essentially becomes a part of our personalities. Lady Gaga has no obligation to live up to these things, but they're certainly in her [financial] interest. Her brand has so much to be purchased, so much media to be consumed... and by throwing on these prosthetics, odd make-up, leather, crazy outfits.. she's no longer relatable. With this weight gain, she's become less desirable (to this awful, vain society).
It's sad, but it's true. Image matters if you want to be a successful popstar. Can we say that Rihanna and Katy Perry would be at this type magnitude with their careers if they were 50 pounds heavier?
