So this is worse than some white college students dressing up in jerseys, fitted caps, sagging pants, with fried chicken and watermelon as props on Martin Luther King day?
I'm kind of sick of hearing that no minority can be racist. It's not true. As a culture, we seem to have decided that only white people can be racists while that is entirely untrue. Obviously, no one was hurt by this and this is not at all the amount of racial discrimination that many minorities face, but it still should not be encouraged or tolerated.
She made an off color joke. She is entitled to do such things until no race has an advantage in society.
Please stop. Idk what is up with some people on ATRL but they think that minorities can be insensitive all they want to white people. I agree that there is institutionalized racism, but racism is not defined solely by this definition. I wouldn't say what she did was necessarily racist, but it was stereotypical bs that she shouldn't be promoting as a head of a group.
There is a lot of context missing. Photos had also surfaced of her smoking marijuana while at school, and she had apparently been in trouble with administration numerous times. I don't think her photo was racist, but I do think it was insensitive and rude. I see no problem with the administration asking her to step down after violating their drug policy and also doing something like this.
@ this being called racist. The desperation for the majority to feel victimized, believe me it's not a party you want to join.
