The whole purpose of fans buying singles is so that the artist gets money. Everything in the music industry is designed for the artist and their label to get money. Singles, albums, tours, merchandise, tickets for random performances, literally everything.
This is the key point that people seem to forget. An artist couldn't give two ****s about having #1s as long as they're getting the cash. And not to mention, someone like Beyoncé who's been in the game for what 17 years does not need neither recognition nor respect because she has it already.
She's literally one of the most praised celebrities in the business, and her renowned performing abilities are mentioned all the time.
She's been a synonym for greatness for a while now, and you'll have to deal.
