A source reveals to BreatheHeavy.com that "odds are" Britney is in New York City to "promote." Rumor has it Britney will make a surprise appearance on TRL in Times Square.

The progression to dance-pop was a natural one for her, I think. Her voice and image are perfectly suited for that genre. You can't really hate on her for changing her style, because the "1990s Max Martin/teen pop sensation" sound wouldn't work for her anymore either.
