Not the serial dater one. The 'only writing about boys' one. Lana writes a lot about guys, more controversial about Taylor. She acts like her partner is her everything, and calls them daddy and talks about getting high with them.
This isn't an attack Lana thread, as I'm a huge fan of her. I'm just wondering why Taylor gets so much hate for writing about boys 95% of the time, and Lana almost does the same but doesn't get attacked.
Is it because Taylor pulls off an America's sweetheart portrayal?
Is it because Taylor has bigger singles?

I've never heard anyone mention Taylor's country genre when she writes about her ex lovers.

This is a useless thread. Taylor and Lana don't even occupy the same musical space. They sound nothing alike and their music couldn't be more different. The reason that Lana isn't compared to and attracting criticism similar to Taylor Swift is because one makes music for adults and doesn't try to be mainstream while the other peddles her music to children and pre-teens and exploits her PR relationships for album and concert sales. Apples and oranges really, 'Yonce.

Because Taylor has songs written for 80 guys she actually dated with. Lana is just a persona.

+ Her written skills are totally different. Taylor songs seem like extractions from a teenage girl diary, while Lana songs from poems by Edgar Allan Poe.

Basically because Taylor is more like a teen artist and most of the time the boys she writes about are celebrities.

Taylor Swift has a concrete reputation for song-writing. And with fame comes polarity, hence the naysayers.

Clearly, Lana, doesn't control who buys concert tickets or her albums, etc. However, that has nothing to do with the point which is that children and pre-teens aren't her main demographic and she certainly doesn't market herself towards them in the way that Taylor does but whatever.
