Australia takes a lot of its cues form the US/UK, and if promo had of worked for songs there it would have been the best promo for here. So there was no reason to travel all the way to Australia when promo hardly did anything in Germanotta's home country. Labels of course should do promo, but doing so outside of the main markets of US/UK when things are going horribly bad at such a reportedly big expense doesn't make sense to business people. Germanotta probably desperately wanted to come and thought it would help, but savvy label execs probably vetoed her.

Bill denied it, Gaga herself denied it, and you'd have to be delusional to think its true. It originated from Angela Cheng, an internet troll, and she also said it had the biggest promotional campaign for an album since Michael Jackson's Invincible....anyone with common sense knows that isn't true. It didn't even have as much promo as Prism or Bangerz.
If that's the case, why did Kelly's Mr. Know It All go #1 in Australia and Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) only went #8, whereas in the US, MKIA sold 1.7 million and peaked #10 while WDKY was a #1 4x platinum hit?
Simple: She promoted MKIA there. She did not promote WDKY there.
And promo clearly helped in the US. Applause stayed in the Top 10 for 14 weeks, she saw boosts on iTunes after performing on TV shows, her album debuted at #1, etc. Your logic isn't making any sense at all.
By the way, you can call her Gaga. I know you think its funny and shady to call her Germonatta but it's not.
