They all need better media training. But I doubt they're even getting any as it stands. Has anyone else noticed how Jennifer Lawrence (with the exception of a Jimmy Fallon interview a few weeks ago) has been incredibly quiet over the past few months? It's because she has a PHENOMENAL publicity/PR team and overexposure was becoming a problem for her. When she tripped at the Oscars again this year, and then again at the DOFP premiere, pretty much every comment on the internet was like "isn't anyone else sick of this?" or "hmmm I'm starting to think this is all a bit of an act" or "I love her but she's starting to annoy me."
So now? She's gone all quiet. That's good publicity. That's a good PR team. That's good media training after so many months of "keep being yourself! Keep being funny!"
Kanye and Gaga need this level of media training, especially as far as the bragging and declarations of "I'm an artist" are concerned. Whether or not they intend to come across as arrogant and pretentious is irrelevant. It's all about how they're being perceived by the GP in the end. Not whether or not they're being "misunderstood." And Lana needs someone to step in and say "hey, don't glamourise someone dying at 27, especially when his daughter is so active and outspoken on social media."
If they are being misunderstood, then what they all need are better publicity teams who are better at conveying their messages in a way that doesn't result in a negative image. But I don't think they need help communicating their messages. I think their messages are being heard loud and clear. What they do need is someone to step in and say "no, that's the wrong message, the general public won't like it." And I think all 3 of them do have people intervening and saying "mmmm maybe don't say/do that" but their real problems are that they don't listen. Not so much with Lana but definitely with Kanye and Gaga. They only want to be surrounded by yes men. And anyone who says no is seen to be threatening the purity of their artistry.
