What notable events were you a part of/ saw? This isn't directly Pop music related so if you saw the Ukrainian Revolution or 9/11 type it up.

I was a part of Yonce's halftme show, I ran out on to the field as a part of the group that was seen by 150M people (for a solid 5 seconds)

I was in the city during 9/11 & the Great Blackout of 2003. I was there for my birth which was the defining moment of the 20th century

I was at the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony

I was once at a rugby match and got on TV and mouthed naughty words at the camera

My life is so uneventful

I was living in NJ when 9/11 happened. BUT, my part of town was on a sort of a valley, so we always had a clear skyline view of NYC ... that was a dark day. I was still in school when the attacks happened, but even after we were dismissed at around 3 PM, you could still see the dark clouds of debris in the sky covering the city.

I was also in the theater district during the Times Square Bomb Scare in 2010. That was terrifying because we literally had no idea what was going on and some of us weren't sure if we could get home (cops everywhere.. some redirecting pedestrian flow, firetrucks, ambulances, etc.)

Same. I live in downtown Manhattan, ~15 minutes walking distance from the twin towers, so I literally watched the buildings go down, on my first or second day of second grade

The blackout was no fun either It wasn't as excruciating as the 5 day blackout that came with Hurricane Sandy, as we weren't as technology-dependent in 2003, but the timing was terrible Thankfully the power came on the night before my birthday, so I was able to go shopping at Toys-R-Us the next day, which was my only concern

There was some church burnings in my home town . My grandparents house that they rented was burned down as well as the annex to the church we went to. My friends brother wrote KKK in front of our house as a joke and our house was TP'ed. It was all over the local news. My brother was all over the news.

The most major thing I was a part of was 9/11 but I wasn't right there, I live 3 hours away from NYC so I didn't see it up close but our classes were stopped (we were in school) and we were brought into the auditorium and told about what was happening and we spent the rest of the day just watching the news about it. Even though I wasn't in the city just being a New Yorker made me feel connected to it.

I can't think of anything. Even things that happened in my own city of London I missed, like the riots because I was on holiday in Turkey (and feeling 100000% helpless) and the 7/7 bombings, although I watched the whole thing on the news because I was ill and home from school.

I was a 4 day old baby coming home from the hospital on the day of the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. I don't remember the day at all obviously, but my Mom said it left a big crack in the house we were living in at the time.

Fast forward to 2003, when we had moved to another city, we were pretty close to some of the October 2003 California wildfires. I could see the smoke and redness from the sky while I was at school and I remember school being cancelled for two days because of it.

That's the closest I've been to any type of major event. The Super Tornado Outbreak of 2011 indirectly effected us though. We live in California, but since my parents are from Alabama, they knew people back out there that were affected by the tornadoes. I was worried for my grandma and for a moment of time my Dad had no idea where she was and if she was safe. She thankfully was, but she was on her last legs so in a way, I kinda wish she was one of the tornado victims, just so she could've been put out of her misery. But she passed away peacefully on October 24th of that year so at least she's resting in peace now. My Mom knew of another guy who was badly injured by the tornadoes I think.
