The movie also delivered nearly 1.3 million Adults 18-49.

The highly-anticipated premiere of the comedy series "Girl Meets World" (9:45 p.m.) delivered 5.2 million Total Viewers and ranked as the #1 series launch of 2014 among major youth demographics: Kids 2-11 (2.3 million/5.7 rating), Kids 6-11 (1.8 million/7.7 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.7 million/6.9 rating).

The movie and series also set viewing records after being made available on the popular WATCH Disney Channel app and iTunes on Monday, June 23. "Girl Meets World" is pacing to be the most viewed series ever in the WATCH Disney Channel app. On iTunes, it is the most downloaded Disney Channel series preview to-date.

"Zapped" is primed to join the Tween viewing record books as well. Disney Channel has presented five of the top six movies in cable TV history and the #1 TV movie telecast among Tweens for 12 consecutive years (2002-13).

Also, Zendaya's song "Too Much" from "Zapped" is perched at #89 and rising on iTunes.

It's not fair to compare backwards. Compare Disney's current to every other kids network and they are just destroying.

I actually saw Zapped because I didn't want to miss Girl Meets World and it made feel hopeful about the Aaliyah role. She is actually a good dancer.

and they're not higher by much, it's still AMAZING that Zapped got 5.7 million and GMW got 5.1 million. I wasn't expecting more than 3 million for either, so this is really good.

the series premiere of Shake It Up garnered 6.2 million viewers and made its debut as the highest-rated series premiere in Disney Channel’s 27-year history, followed by Wizards of Waverly Place with 5.9 million viewers,then Liv and Maddie's premiere which had 5.8 million viewers then The Suite Life on Deck's and Austin & Ally's premieres which garnered 5.7 million viewers,and then the March 24, 2006 series premiere of Hannah Montana which garnered 5.4 million viewers

Disney has been struggling post Wizards, Suite Life and Hannah. The loss of both back to back without any solid replacement (sans Good Luck Charlie) really hurt them. Granted, I think Disney is slowly getting back to that high level of ratings.

New show debuts always are good for Disney. It's what happens the next couple of episodes, people need to worry about. I THINK Girl Meets World reminded people of Season one Boy Meets World so maybe the nostalgia views will continue.

Girl Meets World is slaying!

I think it will stay a success too. The pilot was cute and intriguing enough for the BMW fans to keep interested in it as well as the younger kids. My brother and I grew up watching BMW and now his girls can grow up with GMW. Kinda cute. I think they waited the perfect amount of time, tbh.

I'll watch it later, just saw the trailer and it looks cute.
