Yes, she's from the Bronx and people use that word not offensively. I know that because I live in the Bronx and used to go to school here, everyone said it no matter what race you were.
Well tbh in a lot of places like New York for example, where there's a lot of integration between hispanics and blacks (especially the Bronx, where she grew up), it's totally common. I live in downtown manhattan and hear puerto ricans and dominicans saying ***** all the time, and black people are never offended, unless they're the type who are (rightfully) offended by it when used by anyone, usually the older folks. So I get how she made that mistake.

Your missing the point. Its like gays can call each other f word but if some country straight guy uses it then its not so ok. I just think some of the worst offenders are people who say oh "I'm not attracted to black guys/girls" but then think its ok to say the n word.
