Funny how 99% of "transethnics" seem to be white. All this is is white people who are bored with being white and feel that by being "ethnic" it'll add excitement to their lives so they go and buy their anime and Hello Kitty backpacks or their rap albums and Jays and fitted hats and start trying to be something they're not. The only thing is now they're putting the term "trans" on it to be taken more seriously and try to avoid being called out by people of color. So now not only are they trying to appropriate people of color, they're trying to appropriate trans people.

Like someone said up there ^ race is a social construct. The only thing biological that sets races apart is skin color and physical features, everything else is purely dependent upon environment so to put "trans ethnic" people in the same category as transgenders is offensive.

But seriously, it's no different than being transgender or otherkin.

you have no idea what you're talking about. being "transracial" is based entirely on stereotypes while being transgender is based on the actual brain differences between a male and a female.

Being transgender is also based on stereotypes The only real difference between men and women, other than chromosomes and some chemicals, is the genitalia and what society expects of them.

Except I was talking about people who want to and try to BE other races. Having surgery to get rounder eyes does not automatically mean you want to BE white just like a white boy getting dreads doesn't automatically mean he wants to BE black.

That's already like three differences from race? Chemicals and chromosomes are in your brain. Skin color is on the outside.

You can't change chromosomes and the changing of chemicals is a: potentially dangerous and b: also affiliated with stereotypes i.e. testosterone = masculine/aggressive, etc.

Transgender people are also operating under sets of stereotypes. Both are equal imo. If one is right, so is the other.
