why did Shakira outlast J-Lo in the music realm/world. her self entitled album SHAKIRA. sold more then twice as much as AKA in its first week and has produced a top 15 single and two top 60 singles.
Both singers debuted in the American music world around the same time JLo in 1999 and Shakira in 2001.
Shakira took massive gaps between each album release you'd think she would be forgotten by now. Whilst J-Lo was relatively always in the media and had made more albums in a shorter time frame. Plus Shakira never concentrated solely on the American Market whilst J-Lo was and is especially fixated within that market.

I obviously love both but im more inclined towards Shakira.
Shakira has more WW success I guess, and J Lo is everywhere, so the GP gets tired of her, while Shakira spreads it out so people don't get tired of her.
