This. I loved Halcyon and Halcyon Days (to a lesser extent maybe), but I'd die if she released something like Lights again. Either way, it's Ellie so I don't know why we're all acting brand new. It's gonna be a smash no doubt.
Halcyon was amazing and not sad/negative for my taste. Some of the singles heard on the radios sounds nothing like it. I hope she doesn't mess with the tracklisting like she did with Halcyon Days.
Hm, I don't mind! I like Ellie's music, upbeat and melancholic. Would like for her to do the sort of release she did for Halcyon and Halcyon Days, with one part being melancholic and the other part upbeat!
Besides, a lot of her music is already upbeat... Even her dark and melancholic songs. She's both at the same time. Something like Lights sounds fun and bright but when you look at the lyrics, it's not. I like that dynamic about her. Hopefully, she still has songs like that.
