This is kinda stupid. White rappers and r&b singers hardly ever have any success. Out of the many, only few had success that's Eminem and The Beastie Boys, the rest flop into irrelevancy.
I think the issue comes from the fact that its usually white artists that get more of the attention and acclaim than minorities in music in general You can't just say they should be buying their music, because let's face it they are small in number compared to whites. The majority of Iggy's base are white females. Its similar to if blacks were to go do rock music, they would have no attention at all (and blacks have done it). The label will tell them be more urban.
Also, another reason why is because music that were previously black are now white. Look at jazz and rock, those were black genres and now they are not.
