Nait, I'm gonna be honest right now and tell you that I need you to post those examples I started my air song but I'm not sure how airy it is.

I posted the examples. If you want an honest opinion, an "air" song should be happy, carefree, wild, unpredictable, and/or fun! Like the wind, you just never know where it's going. I didn't post it (mostly because it's obvious and the lyrics BUG me), but "Air Balloon" is definitely an "air song".

I think you'll have more trouble with an earth song since it needs to be content, stoic, grounded, safe, and/or balanced. A lot of ballads are that, so something like "Someone Like You" or "I Will Always Love You" are good examples.

And the two doing fire & water:

Fire needs to be passionate, overly emotional, angry, powerful, and/or uncoordinated. Songs like "Since U Been Gone" or "Caught Out There" would be good examples.

Water songs are usually calming, cool, deep, depressing, and/or easy-going. So, "Teardrops on My Guitar" or "Shades of Cool" are decent examples.

I don't think air and earth is that bad. I'd probably do a prison vs freedom theme if I had those.

I'm attempting to keep similar themes but different emotions in my songs. I'll see how that works out

Agreed. That's a very carefree song. It's so pleasant, but at the same time it's so whimsical.

My inspiration for fire (and even a bit of water) this round is the Age of Adz by Sufjan Stevens. I want to explore in my lyrics and thinking how fire and water's characteristics are embodied in people and how the human nature which exists in those elements can be corrupt and, to put it simply, bad. I love lyrics that venture into this kind of deep thinking because it really leaves you pondering the subject for many days to come so hopefully the judges appreciate the style as well!
