stud- masculine. mostly used in the black community (i think? i don't hear other queer women saying this)

butch- same thing as a stud but it's universally used

femme- feminine

lipstick lesbian- appears "straight" or whatever. i feel like this is only used when two "lipstick lesbians" are in a relationship together.

overall none of these are as stressed as top/bottom/verse are in the gay male community... it's pretty obvious and the roles aren't as strict if that makes sense. none of these necessarily determine sexual behavior or roles. i mean studs/butches often use strap-ons but they don't have to i guess

There is also "lipstick lesbian" which means a lesbian who is very feminine.
That's the opposite of a "masculine" gay.
