MIAMTEC has sold enough to continue to push her up the list best selling artists of the Soundscan era above Taylor.

I shouldn't have come for Mariah because she's already a legend but discounting Taylor's success because she isn't "global" isn't cool when her US sales outsell most eras.

All of their accomplishments are either not known or forgotten. Taylor is a perfect example of this, along with people like P!nk and Bruno Mars. All three of these artists write their own music, have had huge accomplishments, etc. however the fact is just that their success does not translate into memorability because their personalities aren't big enough to give them the "it" factor. Obviously, Taylor has talent and some dedicated fans but that does not give her star power. She's similar to people like Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato in that way.
And no, you don't have to be controversial to have star power, you just have to do something that's interesting and as far as myself, people on ATRL, and most of the world, Taylor is just another girl with a guitar singing songs about being in relationships, etc. Her lyrical content, while impressive, is very one-dimensional and frankly - boring. She just doesn't stand out.

Are we talking about the woman who has written every single song of her career, including an entire album written and composed entirely on her own?! Who brought country music to a younger audience?! Who is always compared to new and upcoming women and men in country music, who has inspired people to write their own music and lyrics?! Who has inspired young girls to pick up a guitar and learn how to play music?! In fact, new artist are already citing her as an influence in their music, and the girl is only 24, that is IMPACT, no matter how many ways you want to twist it.
I have never seen Taylor Swift being compared to Demi Lovato or Selena Gomez musically. And in what way is she similiar to these artist exactly?!

The point of this thread is, why not including her in your discussions when she's obvious an important factor about the topic you're discussing? Some people. "we don't like her"

Because people on ATRL mostly like artists who are flamboyant, have strong visuals and "serve" them "bops". And Taylor doesn't make that kind of music. Her music is not always catchy or upbeat. Her music is thematic and that's not something that's widely-appreciated on that website. ATRL mostly loves artists who are controversial, have a problem with keeping clothes on, mostly don't write their own music and mostly have a lot of choreography in their performances that they mostly can't perform properly because they find that empowering and liberating and Taylor mostly does not meet these qualifications, so they find her boring/safe and, therefore, choose to ignore her.
It's simple.

Nobody remembers her performances either (except when they're really bad). Taylor's headbanging at the Grammy was more memorable than Katy's whole night.

YES she stands out, and yes she would win a lot of threads against a lot of artists if she were included.
She's not a nobody and she will be remembered.
