Pokemon stays true to the games and repeats the storyline of each game into the Anime about becoming the Pokemon master!

Digimon chooses to tell an overall story arc with each season, refreshing the the cast each season in order to tell a different story.

However, the last three seasons of Digimon stayed with the same characters, so they are slowing down on the refresh.

I dunno, there's just something I really like about having Ask & Pikachu as a constant throughout the entire series. I feel like Pokémon is only as big as it is because of the Games, take away the Games and Digimon would've been the bigger Franchise.
