yes unfortunately. some ppl leave/have a bigger impact in our world and the way it functions/changes/rebuilds/advances etc. If it came down to it and only 1 million ppl would be chosen to repopulate another planet while everyone dies on earth due to some crazy disaster then the elite of our society would make it and would bring with them key individuals such as doctors,engineers etc.

although I personally believe any human life should be valued equally..its just it unfortunately isn't the case

Every single human being leaves an impact on another.
So to say that a celebrity's life is worth more than say a grandma in Arkansas is ridiculous.
Just because the celebrity touched more people doesn't take away that the grandma had an impact with her friends and family.

So to answer your question- no

One time in my Speech class we had to do this assignment where there was a plane hi-jack and various people were on the plane. We had to get into groups and figure out 5 people to save. Since we could only take 5, it was lots of arguing because the rest would be killed

We decided that global figures who's death would impact more people were more worth saving, like political and religious leaders. I guess it's logical.

We all do have our own experiences so from person to person I do think that "worth" is difference on a person by person basis. Do I think it's an actual worth that actually means something outside of that person alone? Absolutely not, we're all human regardless of social status, ethnicity/race, age, and so on.

People might do more for the world than others or be more revered, but their actual life is never worth any more or less than another person's.

I mean I'd like to say no, but with the world they way it is today, it's pretty clear that the answer is yes . Animals should be equal too, but they're not. People are just a mess in general.
