In Argentina, the South (Patagonia) is compared to Europe. It has better life quality and the salaries/cost of living are higher.
The north has the largest amount of poverty and is compared to the rest of Latin America (Bolivia, Peru, Paraguay...). I know so many rich people from the North tho, they come to my city to study.
As someone who lives in the midlands, I'd have to say the south of England is richer but it's much more densely populated than the north so there's a lot of poor areas too. The north has more countryside.
The south is richer in wealth but us northerners are richer in heart here I. The UK. People I've met from London make out like if you get off a bus wrong you will get beat down. It doesn't sound safe down south.
I'm from the most southern part of The Netherlands and the north doesn't even claim us saying we're just a bunch of Germans or Belgians with an identity crisis. We have our own kind of language and are more skilled in French and German so that makes then pressed. The south is catholic while the rest of the Netherlands is Protestant or Atheist. The north isn't that religious.
South of South Africa has one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Cape Town.
The north is less developed but still well developed.
Joburg is where it's at.
The East and West would be the closest to the North/South American system. I guess? East being more liberal, with the West more rural and old fashioned, but not terribly so.
I'm from Texas and I wouldn't wanna live up north tbh. Expensive, cold AF, and the people are rude. I seem to be one of the few gays on here that is content with living in Texas tho? I legit never have any problems but I mainly prance from Austin to Houston which are some of the most liberal cities in the south so that may be why.
