Divas 'Simply Singing' for a Good Cause

This October, actress/singer Raven Symone (shown above at a tribute event for Patti Labelle) will be joining music legends such as the aforementioned Patti Labelle in a night of song and dance to raise money for HIV/AIDS research. Symone was personally asked to take part in this popular benefit and will be among the performers for the 2008 concert listing.

Sheryl Lee Ralph hosts the 18th annual Divas Simply Singing, an event she created along with the DIVA Foundation in 1990 to honor loved ones she'd lost to HIV/AIDS.

The concert is a highly anticipated benefit concert held yearly since 2005. Other act's in it's short history include Stacie 'Fergie' Ferguson, and Angie Stone. After each concert, all money is donated to HIV/AIDS research.

In addition to concert headliners Patti Labelle, Raven Symone and Angie Stone, other 'Divas' performing for the benefit concert include:

Yeah, that just has me all sorts of confused. The writer "simply" has to be mistaken. ( )

Patti Labelle and Raven aren't irrelevant. The others aren't either, they just aren't as known. Which is why they put Raven and Patti as headliners. I doubt many people will stick around after those two are done though. But tickets are expensive enough that they might as well.

I doubt many people will attend this in the first place, dahhhling.

It's more than Hollywood Records has ever done for her.
