Same here. I'm tired of safe songs as well.

I'm afraid of ballads now. I mean it would go straight to the top on the HAC/AC chart but it might have a hard time on the pop chart. There were only a select few ballads that topped the pop chart the last 5 years. So I wouldn't want it as a second single cause if it would flop, it could potentially hurt the era. Third single would be saver. I mean the evidence is kinda there with the mid tempo singles she released (Dark Side, Mr.know It all and Catch My Breath).

I remember Catch My Breath being in the top 20 on Itunes for weeks and still getting low pop updates. Eventually it did peak at #12 but it could've done a lot better if radio wasn't so hesitant to play it. It was still a success tho. +100 Million AI and went platinum.

I want ballads in general. Regardless of them being singles or not, Stronger really had no power ballads and Winter Dreams is the closest to a power ballad we've had in a LONG time.

I'm convinced that it stanned for Kelly at some point in time and she just didn't reply to its fan mail.

Yeah, we need at least 3 ballads on the next album and at least one of them should be a single. And also we need material that shows Kelly's vocals better. A lot of much worse singers are consider being better than Kelly because their songs show their voices. Kelly's songs are pretty challenging to sing them but when you here them sung by Kelly, they seem just like some normal songs, nothing special.

I'd prefer similar strategy to the one applied on Stronger era, although I'd use two MKIAs (aka songs that are highly promoted and do very well internationally while reaching Top10 in the US and have longevity), then the ballad and then a monster hit like Stronger which would close the era and Kelly would promote it enough to make it big. As the last single, the Stronger-esque song wouldn't overshadow anyone.

And wait, am I mistaken or was Gaga really inspired by Kelly's wall of doubts in MKIA? Kelly ha power.

No more Mr.know It All - Stronger strategy please. We've seen how terrible that worked for People Like Us. It worked excellent with Stronger but it's time for a new strategy.

Well, PLU was released half a year later and had 0 promotion (really, who watches American Idol anymore?) and it was basically an unwanted little sister of Stronger, they clearly didn't care a lot about it (I still feel like they just randomly chose one song to accompany the flawless duo CMB and DR and no one cared about the songs quality or possibly performance).

What kind of strategy would you like? My honest opinion is that she just can't release a too huge hit as the lead single because it would probably overshadow the following single or singles just like Stronger did with Dark Side, unless she would wait quite a long time between the releases of the singles.

I need a AIEW strategy but with NO IDNHU.

Or the Breakaway one with Gone instead of WA.

This would require a superior material and I doubt if she'll ever top this again.

Radio is such garbage nowadays. I could care less about airplay. It's too dependent on gimmicks, lingos, and catch phrases. I NEED CRITICAL ACCLAIM, aka mature music.

No more pop rock, period.
