The problem with this thread is that people are reading the question differently.
1) Only science should be taught in science classes. Creationism/"intelligent design" are not science, so they have no place in it. Furthermore, there shouldn't be any denominational religion class in public schools; that's what catholic schools, madrasas, etc, are for.
2) Students SHOULD be taught the concepts and history of different cultures and religions, ie: Christianity (I do remember learning about Protestantism/Catholicism here in the US), Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, etc. (I enjoyed learning about Greek mythology as well, everyone should be fortunate enough to have a classical mythology course

science classes for a reason... Why don't we just take away math and social studies too, you don't
Need to learn division or the Holocaust to get through everyday life either

We could throw the whole curriculum out, and just teach them how to cook, sew and milk cows
