No one is saying to lock him up. It was a tacky (and unfunny) joke and people have the right to think so. It's also not surprising that it makes people more upset now, given how the social climate is much different than it used to be. Eddie Murphy talking about "****ots" in his
Raw-era stand up does not make it any less cringe-worthy now just because it was touted as unfiltered, "edgy" comedy then.
