Pop diva Ariana Grande gives her gay fans advice but says its' a choice 3 times.
0:28 referring to her bullied gay friends she says "It's a hard thing to watch when somebody you love is being bullied for a personal choice that doesn't define them at all."
2:29 she says "As long as your personal choice isn't hurting somebody else... your good. Like if your personal choice isn't hurting anyone else or putting anyone else in danger what gives them the right to hurt you or put them in danger.
At 3:42 she says "Anybody who makes decisions like that... personal choices like that
She concludes around 4:00 by letting her fans know that "As long as they're not killing someone or doing 8 ounces of mexican black tar heroin a day I don't think that anybody should complain about your personal choices."
I don't think she meant it to hurt anyone or try to drive a point home. I think she was just talking and didn't really pause to think about what she was literally saying.
This doesn't mean she thinks it's a choice. You're taking what she said out of context. Her brother is gay. She would be perfectly aware that his sexuality is not an active choice. When she said choices she probably meant choosing to come out, choosing to enter a relationship with someone of the same sex, choosing to dress a certain way or talk a certain way, or hold the hand of someone of the same sex in public, or kiss someone of the same sex in public. It was a poor choice of words, but she wouldn't have meant choosing your desires.
Her intentions were pure, kind and loving. Don't try and make her look ignorant, bigoted or hateful simply for the wrong choice of a word.

She said it 5 times. The person never specified what they were doing they said kids at school were bullying them for being gay.
