Yes, we want everyone to stay on their own account. It could get messy if we allowed people to switch, even if permanently.
Right now if you want to change your username you have to purchase ATRL+. In the future there will be other ways.

Well, then again, let me change that - we don't do that ****, but according to the Terms and Conditions everyone supposedly has read and definitely has agreed to, we totally can if we want. It's just that it would be unprofessional and bad form and I doubt Athens wants that.
