Mimi's voice was better but now... well xtina still has hers.

mariah loses points for me. bad performances have cost her some respect. it goes back in the 90's. she is great but this will set her apart from the likes of whitney, aretha, patti,barbara. is like she does not care sometimes. xtina is not poised. her weakness is clear. she yells ofkey but she is not plagued with accusations of not caring.

Girl she's strained on A4's I mentioned the C#5 because the one in the DWUW Remix sounds like HEELLL even in the studio.

Mariah. X has never had proper vocal control and her voice can be unpleasant with all of the uneccesarry shouting and yelling. Personally, she sounds like a man to me.
But this is an unfair comparison given the age differences, your voice thins with age.

Take their ages as considerations sis, it's unfair to compare especially knowing that Mariah is like ten years older than Xtina and has done almost twice the amount of album whish imo contributed to her vocal deterioration. Well for I love these two women so keep it clean in this thread I swear Im so tired of seeing Mariah vs Xtina stuff. Normally I'd say none, but Mariah. Quite easily actually. Thing is, Christina irrespective of having damaged her folds due to over exertion of force, she's still got quite a bit of throat power. A lot more than those who consider her damaged give her credit for. Mariah's retained a decent sum of vibrancy which I believe is impressive given her vocal situation. However, Christina's voice is still in a much better state potential-wise. She can come back and deliver a great vocal, one that exceeds the "best" that we've seen. That's a testament to how truly great Christina's instrument is. Better singer? Mariah. Better voice? They both have phenomenal voices, but whose voice can do a bit more NOW? I think Christina's can. If she learns to control her sound she will blow you away. That's personally what I think. Mariah's nodes are an incessant hindrance. I'm not certain if she can spring back the way Christina can.

And you said this to say what? 'cause Christina lip syncs quite a bit too; maybe not as frequently as Mariah, but she does it none the less. Mariah's lip syncing is just awful. When The music preceded her on American Idol...

christina's most recent performances have been better than mariah's most recent.

Christina has lip synced one note this entire year at the Jazz Fest, and considering it was the Candyman note I'm not mad at her, she lip synced it a lot even in her vocal prime.

Have you even seen Whitney's most recent performances? I love her and have major respect for her, but her last tour wasn't exactly amazing.

And oh please, have you eve n heard Mariah's Australian concerts from 2013?
