Last year Kelly said she would be releasing a album this year in the fall. We know she has been in the studio this year.
A lot has happened since Kelly released Stronger in 2011:
- She got her biggest hit in the US and WW (arguable that Because Of You is still the biggest)
- She got married, had a child
- She won a Grammy (got nominated for 4 that year)
- She sang LIVE at the President Inauguration and received a lot of praise
- She performed that national anthem at the Superbowl
- She received A LOT of critical acclaim from her peers and critics
- Stronger became her first album since Breakaway to actually sell a million copies in the US and 2 million worldwide
- She released a Greatest hits album that scanned Gold and sold around 1 million WW
- Her Christmas record became the biggest selling Christmas Album of 2013
- Her Christmas show was a rating success beating the X-factor
- Successful Stronger Tour and Honda Civic Tour
- She gained more fans from the Country world
Kelly her lowest selling (studio) album WW was My December with 1.7 Million and in the US with +800k. Her record sales approved with All I Ever Wanted nearing almost 1 million in the US and selling close to 2 million WW. Stronger then sold +1 million in the US and +2 Million WW.
Kelly is definitely not declining with her career. She has a lot of things going for her. There is the sia track she has for the album. The supposed miguel duet that she wanted to happen. And who knows maybe a Maroon 5 duet since they toured together.
Kelly has also been able to have AT LEAST one top 10 hit per studio album which a lot of artist aren't capable of.
