I wouldn't mind the rules if there was a formal way to contest some WPs. Like sometimes I get WPs that don't make sense, but there is no real way to complain.

For the most part I think it's okay, but they're becoming more & more strict.

But I don't think we can remove the rules to remove the issue. It's the abuse of power that is the problem. Perhaps what is needed is a two part-process wherein two moderators must deem the comment warning-worthy so as to remove bias.

It's too politicised. People willingly go out of their way to get the fans of artists they don't like kicked out. And all because why? They stan for a different artist? That's their opinion. People should be free to like an artist of their choice without having to worry that someone who stans for a rivalling artist is reporting them at every opportunity in order to get them exiled.

I think they have struck a nice balance. Some of ATRL's members are a bit deluded.

On most other forums with adults you would all have been perma banned by now

Messiness is the blood coursing through the veins of this site. It's what ATRL is known for; being a complete mess filled with constant arguing and shading. If you continue to suffocate this site with "tasteful" rules, it will completely vanish up it's own arse and no one will care about anymore. Newsflash: trash is IN, taste is OUT. Because there are rules that are relatively new? It's not like this forum was founded on morality and a no-cursing policy. I'm not asking for messiness and NSFW content, there's twitter and tumblr for that (I don't even go on those sites). ATRL just wasn't so uptight before, I know that and I'm not even an old school member.

My only issue is that there maybe needs to be a limitation on how much someone can report.. because some people will literally report any and everything just because the person they're reporting is from an 'opposing' stanbase, and it really takes the fun out of ATRL / you constantly feel like you're walking on eggshells sometimes.

Granted, there are some members that adhere to the rules perfectly, when someone makes the occasional shady joke that may ever so slightly fall within the realm of being warnable, someone immediately reports it. It's just lame.

It's better managed than other music forums easily; and looking outside of music forums at other major video game/politics/etc... forums it doesn't seem any more strict. So yeah, it's fine.
