USA, England because the USA came from there, Greece for the Ancient Greek Civilization, and Italy for the Ancient Roman Civilization.
Honorable mention to Egypt for the pyramids and whatnot.

I don't think one country can be considered the "most iconic" but I suppose the top 5 would be Greece, Egypt, Italy, China and maybe The UK? (Japan, USA and France not far behind)
