And it's not the best movie of the millenium, only maybe the best of the year. Titanic is the most overrated movie EVER, and it doesn't have any impact nowadays. And for my opinion the movie that will be commented in the next 50 years will be The lord of the Rings

And the movie brings nothing new besides the depth of Heath's character. It's a good action movie. But the fact that those people are going right and left screaming "movie of the millennium!!!11" makes it hella overrated and getting an undeserved cheering . The only thing I find memorable about it is that it was Ledger's last movie. I just see a bandwagon.

It's totally not overrated, TDK is an excellent movie.

TDK is awesome, and it has an amazing script, but its still blockbuster material which means it has its flaws. Christian Bale isn't born to play Batman, and Batman is undeniably the most shallow in the film.
In terms of Blockbuster Greatness, the award is shared between King Kong, The Fellowship of the Ring and Titanic.
All three of these are much better blockbusters than Dark Knight.

And that's not even mentioning the art house films....House of Flying Daggers, There Will Be Blood and the rest which are all amazing because they do something different and daring. TDK was original, but definitely not groundbreaking. The reason it stood out so much is that all other superhero movies are rubbish.
