Regarding LSH missing from the finale - I wouldn't be surprised if it was a calculated one rather than a creative decision.

They know they can get away with cruising through and not giving it all up at once. They may feel that such a plot twist is best left for kicking off the new season with a bang and continuing the momentum.

GOT finales haven't been particularly spectacular. Not in the way we're used to season climaxes. They prefer to just set up the next steps rather than go all out with the drama.

You should take into consideration that a lot happened in the finale and maybe they didn't allow this Lady Stoneheart to appear because it would have been an overload of things happening

Everyone kept using that three letter acronym - some not even that, just writing the name - without spoiler tags, as if it was common knowledge? Having read through this thread I just learnt to accept that I know have knowledge of some random new character which is completely and utterly unrelated to anything so far shown in the show.

And yet most you ALL claim "only 1 or 2 book readers are doing the spoiling". Errrrrr, no. ANYONE who posted that name gave spoiler material and I saw it about 20-30 times. I mean I NEVER read behind the spoiler tags in this thread yet now the finale is a bit of a question mark for me because I can't help but thinking about this extra wildcard information and how it didn't show up.

Typical arrogant response, exactly what people are mad about. The point is it was mild spoiler material yet everyone decided not to even care anymore. As a result some people didnt even use an acronym and then that one person posted the picture. One thing lead to another and its a slippery slope kinda effect.

No, that one person posted the picture because that one person is an idiot. Literally everyone got onto him for it. It wasn't a slippery slope, it was just some dumbass. I've been tip-toeing around everyone's GoT virginity for quite a while, along with the majority of people who have read the books, and the idea that we don't care about spoiling you guys (a courtesy many on the Internet don't afford) is just crazy. Spoiler tags have been wrapped around major and minor plot points for some time now to keep new viewers in the dark; I've even had complete conversations in spoiler tags. Three letters (or even the name out of context) just isn't enough to be considered a spoiler, sorry, and if your sensibilities are THAT fragile you should probably stay off the Internet completely because I've seen that dreaded name in actual headlines.

there's all this news about the casting of verious charachters for the former, but there has been no news on the latter. Kingsmoot wasnt the most exciting part of the books, but i always thought it would make for great TV.
plus the repurcussions of the same lead to Asha meeting stannis, and Victarion saving Dany's ass in Meereen. i hope they do it..

EDIT: and again... Is Balon ever going to die?? or are they planning on skipping the kingsmoot altogether and keep him incharge of all the procedings that happen after? i guess that could work but it would render Melissandre and her leeches irrelevant

The way I see it, they need to save SOME story for the next seasons since the books aren't even done yet. I imagine next season will be very focused on those two places, and I bet since Arya's storyline involves faceless assassins, they'll find a way to make it mesh with the faceless assassin that might have knocked Balon off the bridge. There is a LOT of potential storyline there, since it was basically breezed over in the books. Very hush hush.

Dany/dragons

Great finale. I loved and hated how Danny had to lock up the dragons but that shows how good the scene was. Snow and ygrette, The Hound and Brienn, everything worked IMO.

I'm not gonna wait 10 months till next season though. I'm already on the 2nd book and can't wait to read them all.

The highlight of this season.... Queen Sansa Stark (AKA Sophie Turner) has given Game of Thrones and HBO the highest ratings they have ever had in the history of their programing (beating the Sopranos) with her two groundbreaking and Emmy suggested episodes. After episode 7 and 8 people lost interest.... what does that tell you?

Speaking of spoilers though, can we talk about how the show basically spoiled Jojen's death and Robert Strong's identity? I barely remember Bran's storyline in the books because it bored me to tears, but I'm interested in how George R. R. Martin will kill him off. I'm pretty it won't be the same way the show did it.
