It's not offensive but I can see how it looks like a jab to people. It's like she was going for "I don't know ha" but in a playful Ellen way.

Ghana is not a known country, like whenever it is or a similar country is brought up in a news, there is always an Africa or West Africa in the end of the country's name to indicate it is from that part of the world, i.e. Ghana, Africa or Ghana, West Africa.

Mess at people getting dense over this harmless joke.
