The Powerpuff Girls are coming back to Cartoon Network.
At the 2014 licensing expo in Las Vegas, Cartoon Network chief content officer Rob Sorcher revealed that a new animated series starring its pint-sized girl superheroes is in the works at Cartoon Network Studios and planned for broadcast in 2016. The original show created by Craig McCracken enjoyed a 78-episode run from 1998 to 2005 and spawned a spinoff movie and two television specials, including the computer-animated The Powerpuff Girls: Dance Pantsed in January.
I don't really understand why the released that one random episode. Where they seriously testing the waters with a show that had previously been one of their most commercially successful of all time?
