If a J-Pop act does anything internationally it's always just dipping their toes in the markets. Like AKB48 releasing Kamikyokutachi to Hot Topic stores in the US or Ayu releasing random singles back during her peak in some European markets and the US/Mexico. There's never really a full-on or even half-hearted attempt at trying to break into one, unless you're a rarity like Puffy AmiYumi, L'Arc-En-Ciel, Kyary or Utada.
