I don't want NEW characters... I just want more CLASSIC characters revealed
I don't think if NRS plans on revamping the cast it will go over very well. MK9 was a big seller BECAUSE of all the classic characters. I feel if it's so many new characters there will be backlash for the classic characters fans that didn't make it.
These die-hard fans should know better. We're ten (main) games in with the same-old, same-old. Don't you get tired of seeing minimal change to the roster? I mean, I'm all for fan-favorites, but I think the MK universe can benefit from a change of scenery for once. Tekken kept all their characters and look where it got them. I think it's time for a new outlook, don't you!?

maybe they should follow my advice, and release MK the official Kart racer game
Speaking of hair physics DOA4 tried to go for the realistic approach and ended up with noodles
Tressfx like in the PC version of Tomb Raider could work.
But when games are finally being made for next gen consoles only it might happen.

If that were the actual case, the last MK would not have been the biggest selling MK in history. There was only 1 new character, not including DLC & guest characters.
I don't mind new characters. I just don't think an overhaul is needed. If it's not broke, don't fix it.
Lara is one character. MK has over 30, and women especially have alternate hairstyles, which is why I doubt this game will have any advanced hair physics. Look at Final Fantasy as an example to pseudo-realistic hair that doesn't use advanced technologies like Tomb Raider.
For the record, they could've made hair look awesome in MK 2011, but they didn't.
idk sis , i didnt really care until others pointed it out > now i cant help but notice
plus this is next gen so maybe they can make it happen > and its not all 30 players > just the girls (or guys with long hair)

i clocked the whole of TR 2013 , and there were messy times when the hair just curtained over her face and she just looked liked the grudge staring back into the screen ,

Nnnn didn't they patch that? I remember the hair being messy at release then they patched it.

Tekken is getting bloated and MK was as well that's why they cut it down.
A lot of work goes into making changes for characters and Tekken 6 had 40 while TTT2 had 60

They killed more than HALF the roster last game. They can stay dead & new characters can take their place. Getting rid of fan favorites and popular characters is NEVER a good idea.
If they want to get rid of anyone, get rid of Sub-Zero (who died 3 times last game ) & Scorpion. I'm sick of THEM every. Single. Damn. Game. They haven't evolved and are stale. Ed is obsessed with Scorpion & Sub-Zero has yet to miss ONE game.

Like the roster had much to do with the sales. It was the first major fighting game on PS3, it showed a lot of potential coming right after the MKvDC mess, and it was marketed very well. Yes, familiar faces helped old fans notice it, but MK2011 was essentially a comeback game. MKX could have no familiar characters except Scorpion and Sub-Zero and outsell MK9. After MK9 and Injustice, people are excited for NR fighting games. And w/ the press MKX has ALREADY gotten with the only returning characters being Scorpion and Sub-Zero, MKX will do just fine without the dead ones from the last game

Ugh, please don't Pokémon me! If it ain't broke, don't fix it? We're talking about characters, not the damn game mechanics. How can you accept getting the same game for a different system and a higher price when you can stick with the norm for $20 on the system you already have?!
Plus, I'm pretty sure the number of new characters won't equal how many returning characters.

Essentially what you're saying is MK: DA, MK: D, MK:A & MK9 were the same?
If you believe having the same characters appear in a new storyline is "repackaging" then
When you have a franchise, any franchise, there are staple characters that are wanted to be in the game. Mario (which has been around longer) is a great example of that.
I am NOT saying (for the 3rd time now) to have ALL old characters. I am perfectly content with a mixture of new characters plus characters that made the franchise what we know & love today.

Not when Mario is solely based around Mario and friends and Mortal Kombat is based around no particular character and can easily revolve around any set of new characters. Sure a majority of the games has revolved around a select few every time but that's just one story being told through the MK universe. Yes they have staple characters who have been here since the beginning but they aren't needed in EVERY game, it's not Mortal Kombat : Mileena ( ) & FriendS it's simply just Mortal Kombat

You jumped the gun.
Yeah, Mario games revolve around him... but there are always OTHER RETURNING CHARACTERS each game. It's not JUST Mario coming back each game.
