She began to take a the nudist approach and made headlines for her nudity in magazines, videos and award shows, like Rihanna. She starred in a movie that was released right before her album, like Rihanna.

Well, she would have to overhype it, release the first single and album at the same time as another pop artist, have it leak early and rush release the single, have another song as a second single then demote it to promo single, take the other promo single and make it second single, then shelve the video and release a remix with a rapper and a b-list pop star, then release a zedd leftover as a 3rd single and flop, THEN it will be her ARTPOP.

Rihanna, unlike Gaga isn't given the creative freedom to take the risks that Gaga did with ARTPOP. Those risks clearly didn't pay off for Gaga. DefJam wouldn't allow such a situation.

Unapologetic wasn't a damaging era for Rihanna, it only solidified her more in my opinion.
