It's not perfect, but it's a pretty great place to live. The people are warm and fun, and really happy even when things are difficult. And dead at "macumbas" . This is like voodoo or dark magic!
Actually Brazil is pretty bad, the American media glorifies them to be the ultimate exotic people with the ultimate exotic getaway when in reality the country is a mess with high crime rates and high poverty rates
I've been to Brazil.
Just like my home country, it has it's good and bad. Guyana is ****** on paper too, but if you know where to go and you're not flashy and so on you'll be fine.
Naw.. it's not what the media makes it out to be. Of course it's a beautiful country with great people, and obviously there are people there that live well and luxuriously but the country's government is so corrupt. I have family there and it devastates me hearing about what they go through. They face serious issues with education, health, crime, racism, infrastructure, etc. and the poverty is absolutely horrible. But all people from the outside see is flashing lights, parties, and big butts... but I promise you they are all just regular people, not sex robots. You'd be in for a BIG shock. It just makes me mad because this glorification leads to people not caring. I mean just the other day someone said Brazil's government is corrupt and a user replied saying "Who cares if they're corrupt when they look like **** stars!" ...Like
This. It is an amazingly beautiful country but the life style is f**ked. I have a sponsor child from Brazil and it makes me sad he is in that situation.
I live in Rio and the image that the media sells to tourists and the most visited places by them are concentrated in like, 5% of the city. They know the beaches, corcovado, tijuca's rain forest, the 'secure' favelas, maybe maracana stadium and bohemian spots like lapa and others linked to samba's schools and that is it. It's fun but unfortunately those are thing for 'tourists to see', the majority of our population and every other city area has big problems concerning security, city planning... the hospitals, schools and transport are chaotic. It all makes living as a brazilian not so exciting, lol.
I'm so infatuated with Brazil, it's unhealthy. I love its culture, people, landscape.. it's perfect. Though, politically, it may be a bit... off, it remains flawless. I'm learning Portuguese and I hope one day I will live there.
