You need a non-free email address.
A school or work email is usually ideal. Sometimes ones given through your ISP work as well.
It is their way of keeping banned members from making dupes.
Edit: Though I am not sure I want any Ron Paul supporters on there

And on top of that you have to wait a long ass time. It took several months to have my account validated.

^That depends a lot on timing.
You could sign up a week before they let you in. Or it could be months. It really depends.
