I'm so excited for Cheek To Cheek. Gaga's vocals on jazz ****ing slays. If it's handled well and the music is great, it can earn Gaga a new-found respect. I mean, it isn't every day you see an eccentric electronic pop girl doing a straight jazz album with a jazz legend.
Remember when Barbra Streisand praised Gaga because of The Lady Is A Tramp vocals?
Quote:
Switching to other topics, she was asked about Lady Gaga. “I like her a lot,” came her quick, sure answer. “I think she really has something. She’s gifted, a real talent. Her television special was amazing. She has a very good voice, which she doesn’t show in a lot of her songs. But when she sang with Tony Bennett, it was like, ‘What? Who is that?’”
Oh, and I believe one of the reasons Gaga doesn't want to keep pushing ATRPOP with a second volume is because she wants to move on from the era and concentrate / push with effort her jazz era with Tony end of the year.
Did you notice that when Gags came into pop culture, everyone was trying to do his best and make a great hit. Back in 2009-2010-2011 pop music was at its peak tbh. And since 2012, when things started going down for Gaga, the good pop hits vanished. There was no one forcing them to step up their game. And since then pop music has been getting boring and boring. Hope that Gags can do something big again
